Marko Ilich is an experienced lawyer with a diverse legal career that bridges litigation and courtroom advocacy with practical in-house counsel work. He has leveraged his litigation experience into a business-oriented legal approach, combining the insight and prudence of a trial lawyer with the strategic perspective of a general counsel. This background allows him to guide clients through transactions, disputes, regulatory challenges, and proactive risk management with an emphasis on clear, business-friendly solutions.

Marko began his career in private practice at a South Florida litigation firm, where he represented lenders, developers, and businesses in commercial disputes, consumer finance matters, and lending transactions. He gained significant experience in contract negotiations and hard-money lending as well as intellectual property disputes. These matters honed his ability to quickly identify leverage points, balance risk against opportunity, and advocate effectively for his clients both inside and outside of the courtroom.

He later transitioned to an in-house role where he served as Associate General Counsel and then General Counsel for a group of litigation finance and claims management companies focused on law firm lending and consumer pre-settlement funding. In those roles, he led the legal department overseeing regulatory compliance across more than thirty states, structured consumer and commercial lending products, developed compliance programs that mitigated regulatory risks, and oversaw litigation and alternative dispute resolution recoveries of multimillion-dollar assets. He also advised executives on corporate governance, employment matters, and business strategy, providing a holistic legal function for a rapidly expanding enterprise.

Drawing on both his litigation and in-house experience, Marko approaches his clients with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset. He is committed to understanding each client’s business and industry context and tailors his legal advice to advance growth objectives while minimizing risk.

A South Florida native, Marko competed in intercollegiate soccer during his undergraduate years and now channels that same discipline and work ethic into distance running, focusing on the marathon distance with Boston Marathon qualification in his sights. Keeping with his family’s legacy, he maintains deep ties with the St. Simeon Serbian Orthodox Church in Miami, Florida.
