Ed Gehres Interviewed by Bloomberg Law, “Insurers Wage ‘Logically Inconsistent’ War on Lawsuit Investors”

Ed Gehres was interviewed by Bloomberg Law for a recent article that looked at efforts by insurers to "ramp up attacks on litigation funders, even as their peers offer related products."

The article points out that opponents are purposefully failing to make distinctions between three disparate funding categories: commercial litigation, mass tort/personal injury, and consumer legal funding involving loans directly to plaintiffs. As Eric Schuller, president of the trade group Alliance for Responsible Consumer Legal Funding puts it in the article, “It’s three distinct buckets and three distinct purposes, so why are you lumping them all together and saying we’re going to do a one-size-fits-all?”
